Please Make Checks Payable to David Backes CO/St. Louis Blues

Because is it wasn't for his cheap play, this would've been a Blues win in a blowout. The Oilers were up to their same old curling up and dying routine until Backes fought Horcoff and later hit Lubomir Visnovsky with a (IMO) cheap and late hit. This brought the team together, no matter how much there maybe disarray in the lockerroom in regards to the coaching, nobody was going to pull that kind of crap to this team.

It was what this team has lacked, a spark, a reason, a purpose to play hard, to unite against a common enemy other than the one behind the bench. Tomorrow's game will tell us all that we need to know about the reason behind the play tonight. If Dallas doesn't play a chippy game (TBD) and we look like chopped liver, it was just as I've described it. If they aren't chippy and they come out like gangbusters and win in what has always been a hostile environment, then the team is turning a new leaf.

The answer will be out there in less than 24 hours.

Not sure if you saw this MacT quote:

"If we continue to struggle we'll be seeing Schremp and Brule pretty quick," said MacTavish. "They're putting up some pretty good numbers down there."

Nope, that's pretty amazing. IMO the kids bought themselves another few games with tonight's performance. Cole is a guy that needs to get going. Perhaps a Schremp-Brule-Cole line could turn things around for #26?
