MacT and Roli Look to Turn Back the Clock

With the team on tough times, 2 men are looking to try to return to a simpler time, a time in which both men were at the pinnacles of their career. The '05-06 improbable Stanley Cup run which saw the Oilers just fall short of hockey's ultimate goal.

Since then Dwayne Roloson has seen a bumpy road in an Oilers jersey, a horrible injury decimated team in front of him in '06-07 and a young injury decimated team in '07-08 while also losing his starting job to then newcomer Mathieu Garon.

Craig Mactavish's days in the sun seem few and far between after his 1 true shining moment as the man behind the bench helping to drive his team to the most success that they had seen in about 15 years. However times change, players change, coaches change, and sometimes people that were once heroes are now just trying to survive the fast paced world of the NHL.

They are relying heavily on each other for their Oilers lives as the Oilers look to invade Motown tonight. If they fail, they will fail side by side, just like they experienced near glory side by side not all that long ago. What a difference three years can make in the NHL.

I don't get the fans hate on for Roloson, He's still a pretty good goalie.

This season he's been solid, last season? Not so much.

Can't really fault Roli, but this team is getting pounded. 2 posts in the same PP. Outshot 16-9, very fortunate that it's not 2 or 3-0

3-0 after 2, out shot 10-5 in the 2nd, only 1 shot in the 2nd half of the 2nd period.

Roli has deserved better. Change has to come, lines, coaching, benchings, callups, something has to happen.
