No Margin For Error

Of the Oilers 9 wins this season, only 2 of them came with the teams goaltender having a sub 0.900 save %. Roloson won with a 0.846% and Deslauriers with a near 0.900% with a 0.897%.

Let's examine some of the goaltenders losing save %'s

Roloson
0.972% OT loss
0.938% OT loss
0.931%
0.902%

0.900%
0.868%

Garon

0.960% (in relief of Roloson against Detroit)
0.880%
0.840%
0.800%
0.750% (pulled against Pittsburgh)

Deslauriers
0.821%

By looking at those stats the goaltenders really could only be blamed for roughly 5 of the teams 21 games. And I'm not really even buying that. Most of the games where the save %'s are low, the team was tip toeing through the tulips instead of getting the butts in gear. Anything less than spectacular play has meant no points for the team. If there's ever a sign for a poor TEAM, this is it. Stand on your head and you have a 50/50 chance of winning.

It sucks to be a goaltender on this team.
