Oilers Scorched By Iginla/Flames

Gilbert Brule had a relatively quiet night in his return to the Oilers. Robert Nilsson finally showed some of what earned him his roster spot in the first place, Gagner and Cole continued to play well and show solid chemistry together.

Now the bad news, no Hemsky again meant that in MacT's world Liam Reddox remained on the top line. Lord knows how long that experiment will last if Hemsky is out for a significant stretch. I really don't see why Schremp can't be called up and Reddox sent down (at least until Hemsky or Pouliot returns). MacT can call up Liam when he returns.

Oh well, at least the 4th line and the Gagner line were clicking tonight. However the solid balance that we had prior to Hemsky's and Pouliot's injuries has gone down the drain. I must also add, for a player that used to specialize on the PK, why can't MacT ice a respectable PK??? It's seeming more and more like it was Stoll and Reasoner that were superb PKers more so than it was a reflection of MacT's "Brilliant" coaching.
