The Quackers Are Showing Us Up

We are now tied with our old nemesis in the race to get potentially creamed by the best in the west, and face them tonight in what could be the single biggest game of the Oilers season. For awhile we had points on them and games in hand, that went up in smoke in a hurry.

Now we are facing the gap toothed hooligan and his cast of aging misfits are looking for one last hurrah, looking to sneak in and kill a giant in the NHL's Western Conference before they start anew.

A sense of urgency that can only come from veterans looking for their last hurrah. Unfortunately we aren't that lucky. This team needs Souray, Horcoff, Moreau, Staios, Pisani, and yet again Roli to take the lead while the kids follow the lead.

That's what veterans are supposed to do. To add insult to injury, the Ducks shed vets at the deadline and unlike the Oilers have surged up the standings. Pahlsson and Moen were both dealt away not to mention Mathieu Schneider was dealt early in the year.

If they sold at the deadline and make it in over us who you could consider as slight buyers, that about sums up how poorly led this team is from the coaching staff to the teams core leadership.

It also signifies that we not only need new coaches, but a new C and maybe some new A's in the dressing room come next season.
