Comrie On His Way? More Importantly, Who Is On The Way Out? And Who Is Coming Back?

Signing Mike Comrie just to sign Mike Comrie without having other deals lined up and pretty well signed, sealed, and delivered is about as important to the Oilers as fluffers are to the adult film industry since the release of Viagra. Unless of course you're talking girl/girl stuff that is!

Signing Comrie to a respectable cap hit is o.k. as long as we are bringing in someone else via trade. Nilsson, Schremp, Brule, Moreau, Pisani, Souray, Visnovsky, Grebeshkov, and Gilbert, those should be our trading chips at this point. Putting the Oilers in a situation to lose more than 1 of Nilsson, Schremp, or Brule via waivers because Tambellini and Katz wanted to give Oilers fans something to talk about would quite simply be piss poor asset management.

Unless the Oilers are looking at a 3 scoring line approach, this move by itself is puzzling to say the least. Let's hope that this is the first drop of rain in a flash flood and that bigger and better players end up in Oilers silks come training camp. If not, that first drop of rain could have just been Tambellini and Katz pissing in the wind and getting some splash back.

But hey, at least this time an Oilers player is bringing a celeb to Edmonton instead of being led by the Johnson out of Edmonton. No matter what you might want to say about Comrie, he deserves some respect for that, right!?
