The Falcons are mirroring their parent club. Entering Sunday's game they were 19th in PP efficiency and dead last in PK efficiency. I wonder where we've heard that song and dance before?
0-3 in their 3 games in 3 nights stretch this weekend, the Falcons scored a grand total of 2 goals. Taylor Chorney scored his first career professional goal on Saturday and Rob Schremp scored in Friday's loss.
Gilbert Brule made his Falcons return on Sunday just in time to watch his team get shutout against division leading Providence. Ryan Potulny was unavailable this weekend as he returned home to visit his father who recently suffered a heart attack. At last report, Potulny's father was still hospitalized but his condition was improving.
Slava Trukhno's thumb was broken by a slash in Friday's game against Bridgeport and he is expected to miss multiple weeks with the injury. Trukhno's and Potulny's loss to the lineup really hurt the Falcons ability to have 2 solid scoring lines. Best wishes to both players, and here's to hoping that Potulny's father has a quick and full recovery, and that Trukhno's thumb heals up properly.
